Location

Rhydau Duon is a converted stone farmhouse and buildings, set in the middle of a mountain sheep farm about 1/3 of a mile from the village of Brynrefail. It is situated about 2 miles from Llanberis which is at the foot of Snowdon.

Ten minutes walk from the centre is a nature reserve which contains some excellent bouldering (Fachwen boulders) as well as some ideal beginners faces called Lion Rocks. Below this area is Lake Padarn, which stretches half way up the Llanberis Pass. This is the home of some of the most famous walking and climbing areas in Britain. Needless to say, there are plenty of outdoor activities nearby !
